The 2009-2014 Outlook for Electronic Access Control Systems in The Americas & the Caribbean

Product Description
This econometric study covers the outlook for electronic access control systems in The Americas & the Caribbean. For each year reported, estimates are given for the latent demand, or potential industry earnings (P.I.E.), for the country in question (in millions of U.S. dollars), the percent share the country is of the region and of the globe. These comparative benchmarks allow the reader to quickly gauge a country vis-a-vis others. Using econometric models which project fundamental economic dynamics within each country and across countries, latent demand estimates are created. This report does not discuss the specific players in the market serving the latent demand, nor specific details at the product level. The study also does not consider short-term cyclicalities that might affect realized sales. The study, therefore, is strategic in nature, taking an aggregate and long-run view, irrespective of the players or products involved.

This study does not report actual sales data (which are simply unavailable, in a comparable or consistent manner in virtually all of the countries in The Americas & the Caribbean). This study gives, however, my estimates for the latent demand, or the P.I.E. for electronic access control systems in The Americas & the Caribbean. It also shows how the P.I.E. is divided across the national markets of The Americas & the Caribbean. For each country, I also show my estimates of how the P.I.E. grows over time (positive or negative growth). In order to make these estimates, a multi-stage methodology was employed that is often taught in courses on international strategic planning at graduate schools of business.

5 Sensaphone Monitoring Systems to Keep Tabs on your Home

A sensaphone monitors a remote location and will instantaneously contact you when there is a problem detected. It is a quick and easy way for you to make sure everything is ok while you are away from your home. There is an array of products you can choose from, but each can notify you in a variety of ways including by phone, page, fax, or email. Here are 5 sensaphone monitoring systems to consider when updating your security.

1. Model 400

The sensaphone 400 offers an easy and inexpensive way to monitor your remote facility. This monitoring system has a built-in ability to monitor for power failures and to listen to the sound of a smoke detector. Along with this, you will find four external inputs that can notify you of the temperature, water on the floor, humidity, and much more from your home.

2. Model 800

The 800 as expected is one step up from the 400. It will allow you to keep track of additional conditions and notify more people in the case of an emergency. The 800 has eight external inputs and allows you to notify up to eight people instead of just four. This sensaphone has a mind of its own as it will continue to make calls to the eight people until someone answers or responds. This is the perfect monitoring system to maintain a safe home.

3. Model 1400

While the 1400 can do all of the functions as the two models above can, it also comes in a sealed, weatherproof, lockable enclosure. The benefit of this is that intruders cannot find it and turn it off because of the lock. As well as this, it will also make the monitoring system suitable for harsh or corrosive environments.

4. Model 1800

This sensaphone monitoring system can perform all of the functions as the 1400 can. On top of that, it also has customized voice phone calls so that users can hear each alarm described in detail and in their own voice. It is the perfect system for ultra-low freezer monitoring all the way down to -85 degrees Celsius. The biggest benefit of this model though, is the fact that it can send text messages and alphanumeric pages on top of phone calls.

5. Model 2800

The model 2800 is brand new and features wireless sensor technology. The 2800 adds the ability to read sensor status from wireless sensors. It includes full analog capability so real world values can be monitored, like temperature, real tank levels, and flow rates. In addition to the wireless sensors, there are also two wireless interface modules. These allow you to connect to existing equipment or sensors and transmit their status back to the 2800 wirelessly.

Tips To Buying Fire Alarm Parts

Is your fire alarm going off in the middle of the night waking everyone up? Or does it not even work period? You probably need to replace a few fire alarm parts but most people do not have the time to go searching through their hardware or electronic shop in their town, so the Internet is the place to look.

If you have not shopped on the Internet before you need to go and do it. There are millions of stores on the Internet where you are able to buy almost anything you want without having any of the hassles of traditional shopping.

This allows you to find rare fire alarm parts that would normally be almost impossible to find without going to many hardware and electronic stores by simply clicking a button. These online stores also give you the ability to compare prices and quality much more efficiently than if you were shopping in person.

The one problem with buying fire alarm parts online is you have to be very careful that you are buying legitimate goods from a reliable dealer. When you shop online for fire alarm parts you could begin to get frustrated when you cannot find what you are looking for so here are some guidelines to help you find what you are looking for quickly.

1. The first thing, which is probably the most important, is that you know exactly what you are looking for. You need to know the name, specifications, and even the brand of the fire alarm part so that you can know for sure that you get the right part.

2. Most fire alarm manufacturer’s have websites today that you are able to go to and they will redirect you to vendors who sell the parts you need. Some of these sites even tell you which brand will be best for your alarm system.

3. Do not just go to one site and click buy. Shop around so that you can find the best deal online. Some sites allow you to sort the products by price which allows you to see which will be the best buy. Another key is that you beware of sites that sell products way cheaper than other sites.

4. The final key is that you find websites that are legitimate. The worst thing you can do is buy a part and the site either steals your money or they give you a bad part.

If you follow these guidelines you should have a good shopping experience online when buying fire alarm parts online.

What A Driveway Alert Can Do For You Before The Intruder Reaches Your Door

You are probably thinking why do I need a driveway alert if I already have a home security system. This is a reasonable statement because many home security systems are not cheap. But the fact of the matter is having a driveway alert will give you that much more time to prepare and call for help that you would not get with a home security system.

There is no feeling quite like the sound of your home security system going off. It is a feeling of panic, shock, and confusion over what you are going to do. And by the time you have finally figured out what to do, it may be too late. But what if you had just a few more seconds, or even minutes depending on the intruder?

Having a driveway alert will give you that extra time to determine what you are going to do. It may be those few seconds that will save you and your family’s lives. There are a number of different alarms to choose from, and each has a different warning signal. But the second the alarm goes off, you will be aware of the intruder far before they have even reached your door.

Your alarm can be placed anywhere outside to pick up movement. Generally you will find that most alarms have a 400 foot range, which allows you to place it close to your door and still pick up movement all around your front yard. Make sure to hide it reasonably well so that the intruder cannot see it.

Another great use for a driveway alert is to protect your valuables left on the front lawn. Many people get in the habit of leaving things in their yard such as a lawnmower, bikes, and even cars on their driveway. All it takes is a couple of seconds for someone to come up and be on their way with some of these valuables. But with an alert to warn you, you will have a better chance at stopping them or calling for help prior to them leaving.

These alerts are inexpensive and extremely easy to install. They are wireless and run on batteries. This way if there is a power outage, your house will still be protected. But because they run on batteries, you have to make sure you check every few weeks for if you need to change them.

If you have a home security system, your doors and house are going to be fairly protected. But in order to get the full effect having a driveway alert will warn you prior to the intruder even getting to your door.

Access Control Security Systems Bring Overall Security Up a Notch

One of the latest phrases to enter the vocabulary of security experts is “access control security systems”. So what does this mean and what can it do for you. In short, access control security systems are systems that contain functions aimed at protecting specific areas in a home or business.

Protecting Specific Areas

In further layman’s terms, its a system that an individual has to have his or her own secure means in order to gain access to a room or area. So what are the benefits? In fact, they are many due directly that the technology that has been developed specifically for these types of systems.

Complete Control

Not only do they control access but they can also record who entered an area or room and when they left. They are also capable of recording other information as well. For instance, combined with a video tape and a scale they can record what an employee left a controlled area with and the difference in their weight compared to when they entered.

Keypad Card and Biometrics

In their basic form they are operated by using a keypad. This is by far the least expensive and the next step up from there are systems that use a magnetic “swipe card”. Up from there is the biometric technology that has been recently developed that checks a persons fingerprint or eyes.
The Most Secure System

While biometric technology may seem futuristic and economically infeasible at first glance, the fact is that this is one area where technology has been advancing at exponential proportions. Hence, it is now more affordable and reliable then it has ever been before. Biometric technologies are also by far the most secure.

Access Control and Security Systems for Business Owners

Access control is a system that will offer you increased security over who may enter your building. Access control readers or keypads installed at doors, gates and other entry points of your premises can effectively prevent the entry of unauthorized persons. Access control and security systems like video surveillance, intercom systems, and security alarms together minimize the possibility of theft or burglary in your business premises, thus giving your complete peace of mind.

An access control system makes use of electronically controlled locks to ensure restricted entry. Those who are authorized to enter the premises will need to use access cards, key fobs or codes to gain entry to the property or building. Such an access control system is a must at sensitive locations or areas that demand high security. If you want to increase the safety and security of your business premises, there is a wide range of advanced access control products.

To keep it simple, an integrated access control system will allow you to present a card to a reader, unlock the door, electronically disengage the alarm system and take a picture of person gaining entry. Integrating these systems is an option for convenience purposes but each customer can tailor a system to suite their needs or security requirements.

Combining access control, video surveillance and security systems all in one platform allows you the convenience monitoring entry. If you are evaluating which type of access control and security systems would be best for the safety of your business, there are several factors you may need to consider. The size and nature of your business along with your budget are some of the many reasons that decide the type of access control and security systems you may choose for your business.

Larger corporate sites may require a comprehensive access control system that will control multiple doors and elevators around the exterior and interior of the building allowing a large number of users to gain entry to the facility based on their access and authority levels. Such a sophisticated access control system is programmed through a computer by our technician during the installation process and can be self managed with minimal instruction. Schedules can be programmed to automatically lock/unlock specific entry/exit doors or commonly traveled areas throughout the building.

Selecting the right security provider is an essential component in tailoring the right system for your needs. Also, it is advisable to choose an expandable system, as it would allow you to add doors and users as your business grows.

Access control and security systems designed for commercial applications are extremely important to ensure safety and security of your premises. Do You Really Need A Home Security Alarm Systems

The world we live in is filled with robbery and crime due to evident differences of classes in our society. Everyday we read in the papers about burglaries and other sorts of crimes. However, a way to protect our homes against burglaries and other crimes is by installing home security alarm systems.

Home systems are one of the effective ways in protecting our homes and families. Installing home security alarm systems in our homes will make robber, burglars and other criminals think twice. The home security alarm systems these days are more sophisticated and highly advanced. The word security means a condition of being protected against any threat or harm. Home alarm systems are easy to operate. These home alarm systems have various interconnected sensors and control units.
Home systems are equipped to detect fire, burglar and any intrusion. The sophistication of home security alarm systems ranges from noisemakers to a more complex systems. When an unauthorized entry is detected, the home system sends a signal to the homemonitoring company or to the local law enforcement agency. In some cases like fire, the security alarm system will then trigger an alarm to notify the occupants and then dials the local fire department. In other home systems, a sprinkler system is activated to contain a fire or slow down its progress.

The most important aspect in having a home security alarm system is that in time of emergencies like burglary, carbon monoxide poisoning or fire, the proper authorities are notified. Or in some security alarm systems, the security monitoring company employs specialist to determine the course of action needed on a particular emergency. No one compromises security, that is for sure. But now, danger have gone to such a level that padlocks, chains, fences and even doors and shuttered windows can not really afford a respite against such a looming threat.

Some home systems are monitored twentyfour hours a day by its local monitoring stations. When the security alarm system is set off, the monitoring station will contact the homeowner by telephone to find out if the alarm is false or not. In such case, the monitoring company uses a password to confirm that the one answering the telephone is not an intruder. The monitoring station will then contact the local law enforcement agency if necessary. Having an efficient and reliable home security alarm system is an effective way to protect your home and to provide you security at all times.
