How to revert back / restore hard disks that had been used for CCTV (Standalone)?

I had used some hard disks for my home CCTV Standalone system. When I connected those hard disks to my computer, and checked them via “properties”, I realised that they appeared to have about 1.85G free space, and 4KB being used. But the original Hard disks space range from 80G to 500G! What happened? Can I get back those hard disk space and use it for computer purpose? I’ve tried format them, but still the same. Advices needed. Thank you so much. :)

The HDD is probably formatted in an unrecognisable format.

If you reformat and repartition the hard drives, you should be able to get full usage back. You need to make sure the drive is only one large partition or you may be formatting just a section.

Also ..Did your computer detect them properly in BIOS? You may have to enter the heads and sectors manually if they are not auto detected properly.
